World Oceans Day & Coral Triangle Day 2026: Protecting the Distant, Safeguarding the Near
Marking World Oceans Day in Bali, policymakers, conservation organizations, and regional partners gathered to highlight a shared challenge: protecting marine biodiversity beyond national borders. As Indonesia advances the implementation of the BBNJ Agreement, the event underscored a growing commitment to turning international ocean governance into collective action.
From Reflection to Practice: SOLUSI Gender and Safeguards Workshop
Given how today, the SOLUSI project continues to advance sustainable land and seascape governance through approaches that are inclusive, participatory, and grounded in rights. It is a framework built on inclusivity, not domination, manifested through a collaboration between the SOLUSI consortium and GIZ Indonesia, as part of an Indonesia-Germany partnership steered by the Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS) and Germany’s Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUКN), with funding from the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
UNCBD & UNFCCC Negotiator Training and Simulation
As climate change and biodiversity loss become increasingly intertwined challenges, Indonesia is currently working to strengthen coordination under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity ahead of the 2026 COP summits. Due to this condition, the Ministry of Environment (KLH), through its National Focal Points, held a three-day training workshop in Bogor, focused on practical negotiation expertise—ranging from drafting texts to building alliances.
SETI Shares Key Findings to Support Batam’s Long-Term Energy Plan
The SETI project concluded the Baseline Energy Consumption Study in Batam, and its findings were disseminated on 16 April 2026 to key stakeholders from the city council, provincial government of Kepulauan Riau, selected building owners, and representatives from local universities. The findings will serve as key references for the development of a long-term energy plan.
