Project: 2050 is Now!
Indonesia submitted its first NDC in 2016 and committed to reduce GHG emissions by 29% below business as usual (BAU) unconditionally and 41% below BAU by 2030 with international support. The target has slightly increased in 2022 by committing GHG emissions reduction by 31.89% (unconditional) and 43.2% (conditional) by 2030. Further, Indonesia has also submitted the Long-Term Strategy on Low Carbon and Climate Resilience (LTS-LCCR) in 2021, aiming to achieve an ambitious target of Net Zero Emissions by 2060 or sooner. The 2050 is Now project will have three main outcomes, including: i) improved Indonesia Climate Action Long Term Strategy institutionalization through identifying model indicators, baseline data, and assumptions that remain a gap in the document; ii) Linked target, analysis and indicators stipulated in the Indonesian long term climate action (LTS) with the national long term development planning; and iii) improved policy framework to connect sectoral targets of long-term climate action with future updated NDCs.

The Net Zero Agriculture Specialist will serve as key technical resources providing both technical and operational support to the Climate Team in the development of National Agriculture NZE Roadmap to advancing Indonesian to achieve net zero emission in agriculture sector by 2050. Key responsibilities is to design and implement evidence-based research include, but is not limited to, formulation of methodology, data collection strategy, data processing, and report writing. In addition to research responsibilities, the incumbent will play an active role in stakeholder engagement, supporting collaboration with relevant stakeholders and strategic partners.
