June 2025
The Ministry of Environment (MoE), with support from GIZ Resilient Nature cooperation area through CLARITY project & International Climate Initiative, in collaboration with key ministries and institutions and other development partner, has officially launched the preparatory process for Indonesia’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP).
The launch of NAP on 2nd May 2025 signifies Indonesia’s strong commitment to climate action and is an important step toward the expected submission of the NAP at the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) in November 2025.
The event was officially opened by Deputy for Climate Change and Carbon Economic Governance at the Ministry of Environment. This session brought together prominent representatives from key ministries from Director of Climate Change Adaptation, MoE, Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas), Ministry of Home Affairs, and Ministry of Finance to share perspectives on advancing Indonesia’s NAP.
This kick-off marks a strong step forward in aligning collective efforts to develop a robust, context-specific, and internationally recognized adaptation plan. It also highlights the growing recognition that climate change adaptation is not just a policy choice, but a strategic necessity in addressing the increasing impacts of the climate crisis.
