On the 8th, 9th, and 12th of December 2025, project CASE Indonesia, in collaboration with the Department of Labour, Transmigration, and Energy of North Jakarta, hosted ‘Teaching for the Future (T4F) DKI Jakarta 2025’ in 3 (three) schools in North Jakarta, namely: SDN Rawa Badak Selatan 03, SDN Sukapura 02 Pagi, and SMAN 75.

The program builds on the earlier installation of solar panels at three targeted schools, previously supported by another IKI project, ExploRE. Once the schools began drawing electricity from a renewable source, it became clear that the transition also needed to reach the classroom. A series of socialization activities and student-centred campaigns was therefore designed to deepen understanding of renewable energy, climate change, and the urgency of the energy transition.

The implementation was done in each school’s classroom, combining the 4-6 grade (elementary) and the 10-12 grade (high school). The levels of knowledge were tailored and delivered through interactive presentations and collaborative games. In total, around 190 students took part, building awareness not only of energy and climate change, but also of the everyday actions they can take to support a clean and just energy transition.

The activity serves as an essential step in fostering strong awareness and empowering students to play a role in supporting the energy transition. By turning classrooms into hubs of environmental innovation, the Teaching for the Future activities do more than just share information, they cultivate a next generation of energy-conscious leaders. As these solar-powered schools reduce the carbon footprint, their students are also equipped with the mindset to lead Indonesia toward a cleaner future.
