Adoption of agenda & new leadership: On the first day of COP30 (Nov 10), delegates from more than 190 countries adopted the COP30 agenda and elected Brazil’s ambassador André Corrêa do Lago as conference president. The UN climate chief Simon Stiell urged nations not to fight with each other but to “fight the climate crisis together,” noting that the summit should be about cooperation rather than political disputes.
