To support the preparation of the Land–Sea Integration Masterplan, Phase I Training entitled “Data Preparation and the Use of the QuES LUMENS Module in the Development of the Land–Sea Integration Masterplan” was successfully conducted in three provinces. The training took place in Central Java on 26–27 November 2025, followed by Central Sulawesi on 16–17 December 2025, and Bangka Belitung on 17–18 December 2025.

This training was a follow-up to the results of the Capacity Development Needs Assessment (CDNA) carried out at the district and provincial levels. The activity was designed to strengthen institutional and technical capacity in support of the preparation of a masterplan that integrates terrestrial and marine areas. An integrated planning approach is considered essential to address the challenges of climate change, environmental degradation, and the strong interconnections among terrestrial, coastal, and marine ecosystems.

Phase I of the training aimed to provide a foundation for enhancing participants’ technical skills, particularly in the preparation and management of spatial data. It also introduced the LUMENS tool, with a focus on the QuES module, as an analytical resource to guide the masterplan development process in the project locations.

The main objective of Phase I Training was to provide a foundation for enhancing participants’ technical capacity, particularly in the preparation and management of spatial data. In addition, the training introduced the use of the LUMENS tool, especially the QuES module, as an analytical instrument to support the masterplan development process in the project locations.

The two-day training was attended by Provincial Working Groups as well as representatives of District-level Working Groups. The training activities were conducted smoothly and in a conducive manner at all locations, with high levels of participant enthusiasm observed throughout the sessions.
