SETI conducted a comprehensive energy audit at PT Shoetown Ligung in Majalengka, West Java, from May to June 2025, focusing on cooling, heating, and compressed air systems. The audit uncovered hidden energy losses and identified opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce emissions, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainable growth.

The company responded swiftly by repairing energy leaks, strengthening routine inspections, and correcting kWh meter installations. For Hammami Ahmad Zaini, an energy specialist at PT Shoetown Ligung, the shift has been as much conceptual as technical. Energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives, he noted, are now understood as long-term investments rather than short-term operating costs. That perspective has gradually moved beyond the technical team, reaching finance and management, where sustainability is beginning to shape broader decisions across the company.

The audit identified 429 compressed air leakage points and compressors operating during breaks. By addressing these issues, the company achieved annual savings of approximately IDR 267 million and 258,295 kWh, contributing to an estimated emission reduction of around 173 tCO₂e per year. Improvements to cooling, ventilation, and heating processes are ongoing, with projected savings of around IDR 2 billion per year and 1,840,714 kWh, equivalent to an estimated 1,233 tCO₂e reduction.
