“I am supporting energy transition efforts, understanding the opportunities better after collaborating with GIZ, starting from practical, small things in our group of companies.” 

This was the call to action for Lishia Erza, CEO of Candra Naya, following the ASEAN Energy Business Forum 2023. At the event, a session organized by GIZ Indonesia and ASEAN in collaboration with IRENA brought together business leaders to discuss financing the energy transition. For Lishia, the dialogue reinforced an important point: the private sector’s role is not just to talk about policy harmonization and cross-border investment, but to demonstrate real-world clean energy solutions within her own affiliated companies.  

PT. Daya Santosa Rekayasa (DSR)—a company within her group specializing in  smart farming—began integrating solar PV into its agricultural technology. This AgriPV solution not only helps farmers and smallholders adopt clean energy but also powers advanced tools for sensor-based monitoring and data analytics, enhancing agricultural productivity. 

Building on this momentum, Lishia’s influence has continued to expand. She also highlighted the importance of engaging SMEs for energy transition, which contributes over half of Indonesia’s GDP. “I now actively support ongoing policy and implementation efforts for SMEs,” she affirms. Her journey from forum participant to clean energy advocate for Indonesian SMEs underscores a critical lesson: the energy transition is not waiting for perfect policy.
