The Kick-Off for the first batch of Industrial Energy Lab’s Technical Assistance (TA) officially took place on 16 May 2025 in Jakarta. Fourteen selected industries, alongside Industry Association representatives, attended the event. Andriah Feby Misna, Director of Various New and Renewable Energy at the Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (ANEKA), emphasized the TA’s role as a vital step in supporting Indonesia’s industrial decarbonization. She noted that industry is the country’s largest energy consumer, and its decarbonization can significantly reduce emissions. Feby congratulated the companies and called for strong collaboration to accelerate Indonesia’s energy transition, expressing optimism that the nation’s net-zero emissions target by 2060 is achievable.
Johannes, SETI Coordinator, explained that with IKI support, the TA will help industries reach decarbonization target through three tracks: the energy audits, the prefeasibility studies, and the implementation over several months He highlights that selected industries could become first engagers and movers to help others to replicate energy efficiency and renewable energy efforts with SETI’s assistance.
